DTMで楽曲の録音や再生中、「バリバリとしたノイズがでる！」「強制停止されてしまう！」などで、悩んでいませんか？
これはトラックやソフトシンセ、エフェクトの数が増えることで、大きくなっていくパソコンへの負荷が原因となります。
CUBASEにはこれを軽減する機能や方法がいくつかありますが、その中でもトラックのCPU使用率をほぼ０にするフリーズ機能というものがあります。
これを複数トラックに適用すると、上記のトラブルなく快適に作業できるようになります。
今回の記事では、「CUBASEでトラックのCPU使用率を０にする、フリーズ機能の使い方」をお伝えしていきます。

・フリーズ機能の使い方
トラックを選択し、インスペクタの赤枠部分をクリック。
これについてはこちら。
上記画面で、「インストゥルメントをフリーズ」にチェックを入れ、OKをクリック。
適用後、赤枠のようになれば、OKです。
※解除の方法は、もう一度フリーズボタンをクリックし、フリーズ解除を選択します。
・フリーズ化の特徴
・「フリーズしたインストゥルメントは解放する」をチェックすると、メモリも解放される。
・フリーズ化されたトラックのCPU使用率は、ほぼ０になります。
・フレーズ状態のトラックは、音量とPAN以外の機能が使えない。(打ち込みやエフェクトなど修正ができない。)
・その他のCPU軽減方法
・バッファサイズを高くする
・インストゥルメントラックを、オーディオに変換する
・１つのソフトシンセで、複数の音色を使用する
・サンプリングレートやビットレートを下げる
・スペックの良いパソコンに買いかえる。
など、いくつかの方法があります。
僕はこの中で効果が高く簡単なのは、バッファサイズとフリーズ機能かなと思いました。
ただ、バッファはレイテンシー(音の時間差)が大きくなるので、演奏して録音や入力するなら注意も必要です。

これまで話したように、この機能で適用トラックの負荷を、限りなく０にすることができます。
変わりに打ち込みなど編集ができなくなるので、あまり使ってないトラックや完成しているトラックなどに使うと効果的です。
